Station No. 5 is located on the edge of a Town Park and uses exterior materials that complement the existing Community Activity Center. The 11,750 SF building consists of three drive-thru apparatus bays with high-speed bi-folding doors, living quarters for seven firefighters, an office for the station officer, a fitness center, a hardened storm refuge area, and additional support spaces. Station 5 is a prototype and the second of two stations designed concurrently for the Town, which utilized the same basic layout and massing with exterior materials to better suit each station’s surroundings. This is the fourth fire station BSW was selected to design for Flower Mound.
