The city had limited land available for development on one city block to accommodate two courtrooms, public parking, secure staff parking and a sallyport for detainee transport. The design response was to place the courtrooms upstairs to free up the ground level footprint for public accessibility. The 40-foot cantilever solution provides an attractive civic presence and respects the existing modernist surroundings.
