The Texas Department of Public Safety needed to drastically increase the capacity of their crime lab for the Tyler district due to increased demand for services. Our team reviewed several expansion options including addition/renovation at the current facility and a new, freestanding facility located on the same site. The client felt that freestanding was the better option for meeting current needs and providing for expected future growth. The new facility provides laboratory space for a variety of functions and several spaces dedicated to firearms identification, staff office and work areas, controlled access and internal security throughout the facility.
