Who Should Attend?
The course is appropriate not only for Police Chiefs, and their staff but would benefit city management or staff members that may need a more full understanding of the complexities of the process required to plan, design and construct a modern police facility.
What is Discussed?
This three-day seminar will expose you to the process of planning for a new public safety facility. It will include discussions led by experienced police facility architects and owners/users of buildings. Tours of small, medium and large Dallas-area facilities are included, and will be led by the Police Chief/Staff involved with the entire process of their facility.
Learn valuable project management details such as:
- Writing an RFQ that helps identify qualified firms
- Identifying typical project contracts
- Working with an architect. What do they do?
- Establishing a preliminary size and cost of development
- Determining a realistic timeframe
- Evaluating the pros and cons of renovation
- Identifying and correcting common planning errors
